Being critical in heritage studies simply means ‘thinking about’ heritage: why do we value particular objects, places and practices from the past more than others? How does heritage function within society? If we memorialise some aspects of heritage, what other aspects might we forget in the process? “(Harrisson & Linkman 2010:75).
