Myth, cult and religion

"Cult and religion" covers the study of burial and sacricifical customs, as well as cultic buildings and ritual places in general. An overall aim is the understanding of cosmology and religion as important aspects of ancient society.

One research focus is Ancient Scandinavian mortuary and sacrificial ritual and its development in a long-term perspective. Another field of research is the development of early Christian monastic activities in the Levant.
