Wulfila conference

The department of Archaeology and Ancient History and the University library Carolina Rediviva together arrange an international conference in June on the occasion of the 1700-year-anniversary of the birth of the originator of the "Silver Bible" - the Gothic bishop Wulfila.

Bishop Wulfila is known as the constructor of the Gothic alphabet and also translated the Bible into Gothic. Today the well-known translation can be seen in the Uppsala University Library Carolina Rediviva -   Codex Argentus - a magnificent manuscript from the early 6th century.

NOTE The lectures are open to the general public!
